Grain Free Tahini Brownies

Indulge in the ultimate decadence with Grain-Free Tahini Brownies – irresistibly fudgy, easy, and boasting gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo-friendly credentials. Elevating the sweetness, we choose panela, an unrefined sugar rich in vitamins and minerals, mirroring the same wholesome choice found in our family's Double Spiral Chocolate recipe.

Unrefined sugar, exemplified by panela, is a natural sweetener that undergoes minimal processing, retaining its original molasses content and natural nutrients. Panela, made from evaporated sugar cane juice without centrifugation, boasts several benefits:

  1. Rich in Nutrients: Panela contains vitamins such as B vitamins (including B6 and B3), minerals like iron, magnesium, and calcium, offering a more nutrient-dense alternative to refined sugars.

  2. Natural Flavor Profile: Panela retains the natural caramel-like taste and deep flavor of sugarcane, enhancing the overall taste of recipes.

  3. Lower Glycemic Index: Compared to refined sugars, panela has a lower glycemic index, leading to a slower rise in blood sugar levels, which can be beneficial for those seeking better blood sugar control.

  4. No Chemical Additives: The minimal processing of panela means it is free from chemical additives and preservatives, making it a more wholesome and pure sweetening option.

  5. Non-Centrifugal Production: Panela's non-centrifugal process avoids high-speed spinning, preserving its natural integrity. This method enhances its nutritional content, making it a conscious choice for those seeking a more wholesome sweetener.

  6. Environmental Sustainability: Production of panela often involves more sustainable and eco-friendly practices compared to highly processed sugars, contributing to environmental conservation.

Choosing unrefined sugars like panela, particularly due to its non-centrifugal production, can be a health-conscious decision, offering a sweet taste while preserving the nutritional integrity of the sugar cane.
