Granola Apple Crisp
Our new favorite way to make apple crisp is with Granola! We use maple syrup and sucanat for healthy sugar and ghee for healthy oil.
Recipe
Serves: 8
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 50 minutes in the oven
Total Time: 70 mins
Diet: Dairy-free, gluten free, vegan
Ingredients:
6 medium apples
½ cup brown sugar (to keep paleo, use golden monkfruit sweetener)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
½ cup dairy-free butter, melted (we use ghee here but you can use whatever kind of butter you like!)
one 10 oz bag of KitchFix grain-free honey pecan granola
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Peel and slice apples into ¼ inch thick pieces; place in a large bowl.
3. Mix brown sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a small bowl; coat apples with the mixture.
4. Spray a baking dish and evenly distribute apple-sugar mixture in it.
5. Break up granola if needed; mix with butter in a medium bowl.
6. Spoon granola-butter mix over the apples, covering them completely.
7. Cover the dish with tin foil and bake for 40 minutes.
8. Remove tin foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
